HG : Body Shop - Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Image taken from: www.thebodyshop.co.uk
Aahhh...let me share with you my first HG(holy grail for the uninitiated). I have been using this as my anti-dandruff shampoo for the last five years. I am never, I repeat, NEVER without this in my bathroom. I bring this even to my short trips overseas for fear of having a dandruff break-out.
I've discovered this shampoo when I was on the quest to end my on and off relationship with dandruff. I have used lots of other dandruff shampoos like Head & shoulders, Clear, Sunsilk, Pantene, Selsun Blue, Nizoral and finally Korres. I was just starting to like Body Shop shower gels so when I saw that they had an anti-dandruff shampoo, I figured that it won't hurt to try one.

Lo and behold! My dandruff was not gone in one wash but it did went away in the course of a week! Surprise surprise! I wasn't expecting it to be that effective! I have tried even medicated shampoos and I didn't get the same result as this! I knew then that this is the one and I'm never letting go of it! I love this shampoo to pieces!
Once I felt that my dandruff was under control, I decided to alternate this shampoo with ordinary shampoos. Well, ordinary means shampoos with NO anti-dandruff written on it. I was given the freedom to use other shampoos! Yey!

Price: $16.90 (I've never seen this on any Body Shop warehouse sale)
Would repurchase? I DID for five years and probably forever!

  2. Hi there!

I'm so glad I was able to help you :) I've been recommending this to all my friends who are suffering from an endless dandruff attack. With regards to the frizzy hair after wash, I think it depends on the state of your hair. Do you have colored/perm/rebonded hair? You might need to use a conditioner to manage the frizziness. Once you feel that the dandruff is under control, you can start alternating this shampoo with either another dandruff shampoo like H&S or even any other regular shampoos.

Congrats on winning your battle :)

    1. glad u replied.... :) my hair has undergone absolutely no chemical treatments ever... but i guess the frizzziness is probably due 2 d fact that i've got xteramly dry hair and scalp... next time i'll try using a conditioner after shampooing....!!! thanx a tonn :)
